The dreams of gospel singer, Kenny Saint Best, to vie for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly
to represent Ikeja 1 State Constituency, has been truncated at the All
Progressive Party, APC, primaries held today. The singer who looked as
if she was coasting home to victory lost to Folajimi Lai Mohammaed, the son of the party's National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed.
At
the primaries to elect those who will run on the party's platform was
held today, 2 December, 2014, and Mohammed, the Managing Director of
Knightsbridge Dredging Limited trounced the budding politician to a
distant second, in what most people feel has been a predetermine
primaries.
Another winner in today's primaries is
Damola Kasumu, the grandson of the late Iyaloja General of Lagos, Abibat
Mogaji, who will represent Ikeja Constituency 2.
With
this turn around, it is not certain if Brown will still be a member of
the party going by what observers say is a huge disappointment for her.
Brown
was one out of the many entertainers who decided to try their hands in
politics. The likes of Desmond Elliot, 9ice, Kate Henshaw, Bob
Manuel-Udokwu, Ejike Methuselah, Tony Tetuila and Kenneth Okonkwo, will
know their fates in the days to come.
