Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Gbenga Ashiru Dies At 66

Gbenga Ashiru is said to have died in the early hours of Saturday, November 29, at the age of 66. According to reports making the rounds, Nigeria’s former Foreign Affairs Minister, Gbenga Ashiru is dead.
The publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu said via Twitter:
“I’ve received the sad news of the death of Ex-Foreign Affairs Minister OTUNBA GBENGA ASHIRU, 66, in South Africa. May he Rest in Peace!

Ashiru, 66 is said to have died in the early hours of Saturday, November 29, after a long battle with cancer.
The former minister had reportedly been battling a brain tumour which caused him to be hospitalized for over three months.
Ashiru served as a minister from 2011 to 2013 and was Nigeria’s ambassador to South Korea in 1991 and South Africa in 2005.
May his soul rest in peace.
